National Call to Action-Save Medicaid

Tomorrow, July 21st, is a National Call-In Day to #ProtectOurCare and #SaveMedicaid.

Thank you for your advocacy so far – you are being heard! Even with this great advocacy, we are hearing the Senate plans to vote on the “Motion to Proceed” to move forward with health care reform – as soon as Monday (7/24/17). Please continue to raise your voice:

  • Call your U.S. Senators Ron Johnson and Tammy Baldwin and please tell them to “vote no” on a motion to proceed and “no” on any of the health care bills currently before the Senate.
  • Remind them there has been no public input into the reform process – and it is moving too fast without enough information.
  • Share a 3 paragraph story and a photograph or a 90 second video on Facebook or Twitter with your U.S. Senators about how these bills will affect people with disabilities, their families, and their communities.
  • Tell your friends and family to do the same!

Both bills will cut the Medicaid program, lead to millions losing health insurance, and end protections for people with pre-existing medical conditions.

For the Better Care and Reconciliation Act (BCRA): The latest Congressional Budget Office report shows that there would be $756 billion in Medicaid cuts (still a 26% cut by 2026 and a 35% cut by 2036), and 22 million people would still lose coverage under this bill.

For the repeal but not replace bill (ORRA): The latest Congressional Budget Office report shows there would be a $842 billion cut in Medicaid and 32 million people would become uninsured.

How to Call:

Senator Johnson: • DC office: 202-224-5323 • Oshkosh office: 920-230-7250 • Milwaukee office: 414-276-7282

Senator Tammy Baldwin: • DC office: 202-224-5653 • Madison office: 608-264-5338 • Milwaukee office: 414-297-4451
