Please join us on August 14th to get informed about the 2019 Milwaukee County budget, and share your ideas for priorities in the budget.
The Milwaukee County budget plans a vital role in funding services that are important to the lives and independence of Milwaukee County children and adults with disabilities, older adults, and their families. Get informed and get involved in the Milwaukee County budget process – just us on Tuesday August 14th at 3 PM at IndependenceFirst for an important briefing on the 2019 Milwaukee County budget.
The briefing will include opening remarks about the budget from County Executive Chris Abele and Joe Lamers, Milwaukee County Director of Performance, Strategy, & Budget, followed by overviews of budget requests related to services that are a priority for the disability and aging communities, provided by department leadership. These include transportation, Milwaukee County Sheriff, House of Corrections, Health & Human Services (including Housing, Delinquency & Court Services, Disability Services, and Behavioral Health).
The briefing will be followed by a discussion of budget advocacy strategy, including an opportunity to share your budget priorities and concerns. See the link below for agenda and list of presenters.
