Voter Registration Video to Premier at Wisconsin Association of the Deaf Conference

The Wisconsin Disability Vote Coalition (WDVC), in partnership with Wisconsin Association of the Deaf (WAD), and with support of the Wisconsin Election Commission, is pleased to introduce a new video on voter registration, featuring deaf voters.

The video will be premiered Saturday evening, June 22, at the 2019 WAD conference. WAD was a key partner in developing the video and WAD members Ron Byington and Lisa Demmon star in the video. Voting is an important civil right. The WDVC looks forward to working with WAD to help increase the number of deaf Wisconsinites who are registered to vote, cast a ballot, and to address any barriers to voting.

“We are delighted and fortunate to partner with WDVC and Disability Rights Wisconsin on developing this video for deaf, hard of hearing and deaf-blind individuals,” said WAD President Katy Schmidt. “This video is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness about voting accessibility, so that the deaf, hard of hearing and deaf-blind individuals can perform their civic duties without any barriers. We thank the Wisconsin Election Commission for their unwavering commitment in seeing this project to realization.”
